Mango Lassi

MANGO LASSI is by far my most favorite yogurt drink EVER! You can call it a mango yogurt smoothie. It is simply amazing drink for a dinner party and a definite crowd pleaser. I honestly love the homemade lassi better than restaurants because I have control over the sweetness and sourness of it.

For this recipe you can use fresh mangos or Mango pulp from the nearest Indian grocers (If not closer to an Indian grocer, try Wegmans or Trader Joe’s, it’s available at those stores )

This Mango lassi was delicious! Try it ! The tradition of sweet, sour and savory in one cup since 1000 BC

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of ice cubes
  • 1 cup Mango pulp
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup low fat plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Saffron strings for garnish(optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender mix all the above ingredients
  2. (ice cubes, yogurt, buttermilk ,mango pulp, cardamom powder and powdered sugar)
  3. Blend well until smooth.
  4. Pour it out in a tall glass
  5. Garnish with mango cubes and saffron or any of your favorite toppings.
  6. Enjoy chilled
