If you’re looking for a great start to eating more fiber and dairy free things, then this is the perfect breakfast recipe for you.
I grew eating cream of wheat for my fiber needs but the way my mom made it, it tastes so good. Today I share a simple recipe of how to make a flavorful bowl of oatmeal with Indian infused aroma to your table.
This a simple recipe and is ready within minutes.

- 1 tbsp. of ghee
- 1 and half cups of almond milk or any milk of your choice
- 1 tbsp. of turbinado brown sugar ( honey or Agave works good as well)

- 1.5 teaspoon of cardamom powder (or 2-3 crushed fresh cardamoms)
- Garnish : sliced almonds, pecans, raisins and a teaspoon of turbinado sugar
Instructions
- In a small pot, heat a tablespoon ghee and let it melt
- Once the ghee is melted , add in the oats and give it a stir
- Add in a teaspoon and half of cardamom powder.
- Add in milk and sugar and stir well.
- Add in salt to taste
- Bring it to a light simmer on medium low flame , keep stirring the oatmeal occasionally so it doesn't stick to the bottom.

- Once the oatmeal has a soft texture , then serve hot with any of your favorite nuts, raisins and a sprinkle of brown sugar. SO good!
