Chapali Kabab (Minced Chicken spicy cutlets)

by thecurrytheory

Here’s a great recipe for anyone who’s not a big fan of Beef burgers and wants a healthier substitute. Kebabs are a great substitute for burgers. They are so well marinated with spice and flavor that you will love them over Burgers. This is a recipe with loads of taste because of the seasoning added . You can eat them in a bun or as an appetizer, and they are super quick to make.

Ingredients

  • Ground/minced chicken about 3 lbs (Empire is my favorite brand)
  • 1 tablespoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt and Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of Ginger garlic and cilantro paste (ginger and garlic paste works well too)
  • 1/2 Tomato chopped

  • Handful of Cilantro chopped (1 tablespoon )
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs
  • A green chili sliced for an extra kick (optional)
  • Canola oil for pan searing (4 tablespoons )

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl mix the chicken with all the ingredients above except the oil. If its too
sticky then (add in a little more bread crumbs) also slather olive oil on your palms before
making them into small flat patties.
  2. In a large grill pan, add in 2 tablespoons oil , let it heat. Add in 3-4 patties at a time.
All in it will make about 8 patties.
  3. Cook 3 minutes on both the sides. Check the temperature before taking out, It should be
    160 F then its cooked.
  4. Do the same for the remaining patties and cook them thoroughly.
  5. They are delicious appetizers, also great in a roll-up with some
    lettuce, cucumber and Greek yogurt.
